What is mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that specifically affects the mesothelial cells, which are the cells lining the cavities of the body, including the pleura (lung lining) and peritoneum (abdominal lining). This condition is most commonly associated with exposure to asbestos, a known carcinogen.
